Jamaica Plain Training Chorus offers three levels

The Jamaica Plain training division of the Boston City Singers chorus has expanded to provide training at three different skill levels. Starting at age 5, the Kodaly singing group, led by Ginger Eliot, teaches the joy of song and provides the singer?s first opportunity to love performing. Elementary age children work on music fundamentals with the Intermediate group director Elizabeth Higgins. This group learns how to read sheet music, sing in harmonies, and voice control. Tom Morris leads the Advanced group of Middle School singers in more challenging music and sight singing skills.

The graduates of the Advanced chorus can audition for the acclaimed Concert Chorus led by Jane Money in Dorchester.

The Jamaica Plain training division rehearses on Saturday mornings at the First Unitarian Church at 6 Eliot Street in Jamaica Plain near the Monument. For more information call 617-963-0264 or email jpcoordinator@bostoncitysingers.org.
