Our Neighborhood /After School Choruses, for singers ages 7 – 12, rehearse weekly and provide training in vocal technique, music reading and performance skills. Each chorus performs several times during the school year. Our Kodály Singing Class provides an introduction to singing for our youngest members, ages 5 – 7.
Cantanti, a city-wide program for middle school singers, meets weekly and provides accelerated training to singers in grades 6 – 8.
The city-wide Concert Chorus is open to singers ages 11 – 18 by audition. Its repertoire includes a wide range of music including classical, gospel, international folk songs and Broadway. Members of the Concert Chorus have performed throughout the United States and Canada, and on international tours, including New Zealand and Australia in 2007.
The Concert Chorus consists of 3 smaller auditioned ensembles: Chamber Singers, an advanced treble choir, BCS Fellas, for young men with changed / changing voices, and Jubilate, for young women with advancing skills.
